We are learning more information about an Alleghany County murder.

Sheriff Kevin Hall says after 24-year old Ashley Rodriguez didn't show up for work Monday morning they did a welfare check and talked to her husband, Adan Manuel Rodriguez a couple times.

He was last seen at a Shell gas station off Interstate 64 around 11:30 a.m. Monday, and was supposed to meet investigators at 1 p.m., but never showed up.

"We feel 100% sure that he's out of the area. In some ways I know that makes us feel safer here but then also we want to bring him to justice so closure can be made and he never can come back here and do something like this again or anywhere else" said Sheriff Kevin Hall.

He says the U.S. Marshals is working to track him down and they have alerted law enforcement across the country to be on the lookout. Sheriff Hall says Rodriguez maybe heading to Mexico.

He was last seen driving a 2001 Green and Tan 2 tone Ford pickup truck bearing Virginia Registration XPM-2403.

Sheriff Hall says family members told investigators the couple had a fight over the weekend and she was planning on moving out. Investigators were not called to their Covington home.

Ashley's coworkers are encouraging people to make donations to the Loving Funeral Home in Covington to help with burial arrangements. They are also working on setting up a donation fund for her 4 daughters left behind.
