ROANOKE, VA -

Many seniors rely on the hot meals they get each day from the Local Office on Aging.

The L.O.A. in Roanoke has made cuts to the program because of sequestration. 13,000 meals are being eliminated from the program because of the federal budget cuts.

There is now a waiting list with more than a dozen names on it for the service.

The upcoming Let's Do Lunch Event in June helps support the Meals on Wheels Service. Contact the Roanoke Local Office on Aging for more information about how you can make a difference for local seniors.
