The Blue Ridge Independent Living Center is looking for more contractors to partner with to make home improvements for folks with disabilities.
Each year, Roanoke City grants $75,000 to the non-profit to help disabled people remain in their homes.
After being paralyzed by a stroke Mary Mills says, her husband, James was stuck inside their home until the non-profit stepped in to build him a ramp, so he could get outside.
"I was so grateful for their help. They really took a lot off of me by doing this," said Mary.
Any contractors interested in partnering with the Blue Ridge Independent Living Center just need to be licensed and covered under workers compensation.
