Roanoke Local Colors Festival draws thousands

ROANOKE, VA -

The Local Colors Festival in downtown Roanoke certainly lived up to its name Saturday afternoon.

The annual event celebrates the more than one hundred nationalities that call the Roanoke Valley home through food, dance, clothing, music, and more.

Organizers say people are often surprised to find out how much diversity there is our region.

"You learn a lot from this festival and you enjoy it and get to know each other well and celebrate the diversity of the Roanoke Valley," said Pearl Fu.

Something unique at this event, a drum troupe performed from Roanoke's sister city in South Korea.
