Vinton Wine and Food Festival popular

VINTON, VA -

The wet weather didn't put a cork in the Vinton Wine and Food Festival Saturday afternoon.

Eleven Virginia wineries filled up a lot of glasses during the annual fundraiser for the Vinton Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber says the money allows them to put on more than a dozen major events in Vinton.    They say that brings more people to town.

"A lot of people, especially at the wine festival the last few years, they say I've never even been to Vinton.  So we want people to come see what Vinton has to offer -- businesses, restaurants, and even to live here in the town," said Angie Chewning-Lewis with the Chamber of Commerce.

This is the 4th annual chamber wine festival, which they say is one of their most popular events.

WSLS 10 is a proud sponsor.
