ROXBORO, N.C. -

A blood drive will be held Monday to honor a state trooper who was shot multiple times while trying to make a routine traffic stop in Durham in February.

The blood drive is in honor of N.C. Highway Patrolman Michael Potts.

Potts was shot four times on the night of Feb. 18 by Mikel Brady. Brady is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a law enforcement officer and attempted murder.

Brady's pregnant girlfriend, Lyndsey Smith, 21, is charged with being an accessory after the fact in relation to the shooting.

Monday's blood drive runs from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Palace Point in Roxboro.
