RALEIGH, N.C. -

WNCN is proud to welcome local radio celebrity Mike Morse to co-host "My Carolina Today" with Valonda Calloway.  Morse joins Calloway after enjoying nine years of unprecedented ratings success with "The Showgram" on G-105.

"Mike is smart, fun and hip," said Calloway.  "We are going to have a blast together!  He brings a fresh, male perspective to the table that I'm sure our diverse audience will appreciate."

Morse replaces Sharon Delaney, who stepped down May 10 after three years on the show to devote more time to her family and entrepreneurial pursuits.  Calloway said Delaney still influences the show.

"I will miss Sharon, but she is only a text message away.  She's still sending me topics to pursue!" she said.

Morse grew up in the small town of Farmville, Va., and now lives in Cary with his wife and two children.  His broadcasting career began in 1997 in the promotions department of Mix 101.5.  He became executive producer of The Bill & Sheri Show in 1999 before joining The Showgram in 2003.

"Mike has a great personality," said "My Carolina Today" executive producer Kim Green.  "He is a part of this community, which is important for a show focused on central North Carolina.  We will miss Sharon, but I am excited about the new dynamic of our team."

"My Carolina Today" airs weekday mornings at 11 a.m. on WNCN.  The show features original and sponsored content highlighting central North Carolina.  If your business is interested in appearing on ‘My Carolina Today,' contact Kim Green at (919) 835-6325 or kgreen@wncn.com.
