The Jodi Arias is expected to finally take the stand today as defense lawyers say she will be the only witness they put on. This after the judge denied their request for a retrial.

State and local emergency response personnel will take part in a three day exercise that simulates 6.8 magnitude earthquake in central Virginia beginning today. It starts at 9:00 this morning. LewisGale Hospital at Montgomery and Pulaski will take part well as Virginia Tech.

There will be a news conference in Lynchburg this morning, ahead of May 31st rally at the State Capitol to push for automatic restoration of voting rights for 350,000 convicted felons upon release from prison. It will take place at 10:15 at Dearington Baptist Church.

A Blue Star Memorial dedication ceremony will take place this morning at 10:00 a.m. at The Garden Center in Roanoke. The program honors all men and women who have served, were serving, or would serve in the U.S. Armed Services.

Franklin County Board of Supervisors will meet this afternoon at 1:30 in Rocky Mount. There's a public hearing tonight at 6:00 p.m. on county vehicle license fees, and amendments to the current county budget

Junior Achievement of Southwest Virginia will host it's 20th annual Par for the Kids golf tournament this afternoon at the Roanoke Country Club. Money will go to help give students in kindergarten through 12th grade the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success. The tournament tees off with a shotgun start at 1:00.
