RALEIGH, N.C. -
Raleigh-based company TransLoc, Inc. was recently awarded the White House Champion of Change award in Washington, D.C. for their live bus tracking mobile apps and website.

The Champions of Change program recognizes different groups of Americans who are making positive change in their communities. This year's theme was "Transportation Technology Solutions for the 21st Century." The company was nominated for the award by an official with the Federal Transit Administration.

The nominating official claimed that since launching TransLoc, "Triangle Transit bus ridership has increased by more than 26 percent, customer satisfaction is up and the number of phone calls from the call center to dispatchers has decreased by 68 percent."

TransLoc operates the GoLive site where Triangle residents can look up and track local bus lines ranging from the N.C. State University Wolfline to the Durham Area Transit Authority.

TransLoc launched their passenger information system in November 2011.
