Durham police report 2 dead in murder-suicide

DURHAM, N.C. -

The Durham Police Department is investigating an apparent domestic murder-suicide Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of an office complex on Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard.

Police identified the victims as Millicent Lavon Blair-Arnett, 40, of Durham and Anthony Carl Arnett, 45, of Durham.

The victims had been married to each other and were divorced, police said.

Durham police was dispatched to a shooting call around 3:15 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Blair-Arnett lying in the parking lot.

Authorities confirmed that Blair-Arnett was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arnett shot himself as officers arrived on the scene. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
