The Botetourt County Sheriff's Office released new information about the shooting this morning.
Investigators were called to a home on Carvins Cove Road in the Bennett Spring area around 8:09 p.m. Thursday.
When deputies arrived, they found 43-year-old Donna B. Hahn had been shot in the chest, and killed.
Investigators began looking for her estranged husband, 47-year-old James Alan Hahn. Botetourt County Sheriff Ronnie Sprinkle said his office had received previous calls about the couple and domestic disturbances.
A search for his cell phone tracked Hahn to a cell tower on Smith Mountain Lake Parkway in Bedford County. Deputies found Hahn in his car, and he had killed himself.
