Blacksburg Soccer Wins Another District Title

   The Blacksburg Bruins Soccer team of Coach Shelley Blumenthal won yet another River Ridge boys soccer title, this one 1-0 over Salem. The lone goal scored in the second half came off the foot of Genda Smith.  James River won the boys Pioneer District title 4-2 over Parry McCluer. EC Glass edged Jefferson Forest 2-1 for the Seminole District title.  The Lord Botetourt girls defeated Northside 2-0 for the Blue Ridge District girls soccer title.

    In District baseball, Blacksburg rallied for 6 in the 7th to edge Hidden Valley 8-7 and win the River Ridge. Cave Spring defeated Christiansburg 7-2 to take third place. Forest Park ended Patrick Henry's season 12-9 in the Northwest Region. William Byrd defeated Alleghany 8-2 for the Blue Ridge baseball title. 

   In Softball action, Cave Spring hammered Salem 15-1 for the River Ridge title.  Radford handled Glenvar 7-2 for the Three Rivers title. Northside defeated Alleghany 4-2 for the Blue Ridge title.
