George Zimmerman will be in court this morning. The judge will determine the admissibility of certain evidence in the trial against Zimmerman who is accused of killing unarmed Florida teen Trayvon Martin last year.

Congressman Robert Hurt will begin his Route 58 Energy Tour by visiting local businesses in Brunswick, Mecklenburg, Charlotte, and Lunenburg counties throughout today.

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli will release the report of his bipartisan Rights Restoration Advisory Committee this morning at 11:00. It studied alternatives to a constitutional amendment to streamline the restoration of rights process for nonviolent felons.

The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will have a public hearing this morning at nine at the administration building to take comments on the county's withdrawal from the Smyth-Wythe Airport Commission.

Salem City Council will meet tonight at 7:30. There will be a public hearing on the proposed 2013-14 city budget followed by a vote.

Nighttime detours will take place on southbound Interstate 81 tonight and tomorrow from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following mornings. It's part of the ongoing construction project to build a five-mile truck climbing lane in Montgomery County between mile markers 120 and 125.

Belk store volunteers will do a makeover at Preston Park Elementary today. The store's 125th anniversary celebration includes makeovers in schools over a 125 day period through July 12.

First Lady Michelle Obama will be joined by New Jersey school children in the White House kitchen garden this afternoon to harvest summer crops. Mrs. Obama has been active over the past five years with efforts to improve the diets of American youngsters.
