Sheraton employee makes a difference greeting guests

Posted: Updated:

The little things in life can make the biggest difference in our lives.

For example, at the Sheraton in Roanoke there's a van driver and bellman who's become an ambassador for the area.

Everyday, Xavier Fox picks people up from the airport and brings them back to the hotel.

His vibrant personality has made him an icon around here.

After years in the business Fox has even learned a number of languages and actually goes as far as greeting folks in their native language.

"Last night a guy came in from China and he and his family was standing there and I walked up to him and I said ‘ni hao' and he was so happy to know that somebody's still around that can speak different languages.," explained Fox.

"The most memorable thing about Mr. Fox is the fact that guests remember his name," said Bob Doran, Sheraton General Manager.

Doran says he gets comments cards from guests weeks after the left commending Fox on his job.
