Woman turns self in for Lillington murder

LILLINGTON, N.C. -

The Harnett County Sheriff's Office said a 42-year-old woman was arrested Thursday for the shooting death of a Hope Mills man last week.

Deputies with the Harnett County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting call around 2:40 a.m. on the 2800 block of Walker Road in Lillington. Upon arrival, deputies found George Daronte Dnell Johnson, 41 of Hope Mills, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Thursday, Stacey Louise Walker, of Linden, turned herself in to authorities and was charged with first degree murder, the sheriff's office said.

Walker is being held under a $500,000 unsecured bond.
