DOWNTOWN ROANOKE, VA -

A familiar face will take over as president of Downtown Roanoke Incorporated (DRI).

The Board of Directors chose current vice-president of events & operations Tina Workman, to become DRI's new leader effective July 1st.  She'll take over for Steve Musselwhite, who has been serving as interim president after former DRI leader Sean Luther left for another job in Pittsburgh.

"It's a pleasure to be appointed to run this great organization," said Workman in a DRI news release.  "I look forward to continuing the work put in place by my predecessors and to collaborating with the great team at DRI as well as our business, community, civic, and cultural partners."

"We will carry forward DRI's ongoing mission to be an advocate for all that downtown Roanoke offers now as well as making it the preferred place for business and living and events in the Roanoke Valley," she added.

Workman has been with DRI for 14 years, and is a Roanoke native.  She earned her bachelor's degree from Radford University.

"We're delighted to appoint Tina as DRI's new president.  Her tremendous experience is a benefit for all that DRI does for downtown Roanoke," noted Curtis Mills, chairman of DRI's board.  "She knows operations, planning, and development, she knows events and marketing—and as a native Roanoker, she's passionate about creating a wonderful downtown environment for people who work here and people who live here."
