Bedford County man Fathers of June finalist for fostering and adopting children

Posted: Updated:

Wednesday's Fathers of June finalist Mike Freeman decided to become a foster parent after he and his wife couldn't have kids of their own.

However, the love the family gives to their foster kids and the two girls they adopted, Becky and Katie, couldn't be any stronger.

Mike's wife Sheri nominated him for our Fathers of June contest because he works hard for a paycheck and comes home and continues to work on changing children's lives.

"There are just so many kids out there that need homes and for us to say okay why don't we adopt a child in China or where ever I said we've got kids right here in the whole country, right here in our own city that need homes, so that's what I enjoy doing." Mike explained.

"Mike if there's an issue or something it rolls off his shoulder," Sheri said.  "He to me is like the rock of the house."

Thursday, we'll introduce you to another Fathers of June finalist.
