Newtown residents will pause and remember the 26 people killed at Sandy Hook Elementary six months ago today. A moment of silence will be observed and church bells will ring at 9-30 a.m. in honor of the victims. A community-wide interfaith service will be held tonight.

The Faith and Freedom Coalition will host the Road to Majority conference in Washington today. Speakers include Congressman Paul Ryan, Congresswoman Michele Bachman, Congressman Mark Sanford and Donald Trump.

Employees from Community Housing Partners will complete home improvement projects at the homes of two people with Multiple Sclerosis. They'll be working all day in Christiansburg.

AARP is putting on a free workshop on home modification for seniors from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Vinton War Memorial. Experts will share practical tips on how to make modifications to your home while minimizing the cost and avoiding scams.

There will be a Flag Day ceremony to honor all veterans at Mountainview Cemetery in Danville this morning at 11. It's being put on by the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The 10th annual Southwest Virginia Antique Farm Days starts today in Rocky Mount. The three day event is taking place at the Franklin Co. Recreation Park.

President Barack Obama will welcome the WNBA champions, Indiana Fever, to the White House this afternoon. The fever claimed it's first WNBA title back in October.

If you'd like to smell like a Hokie, today's the day. The Virginia Tech fragrance collection-- 6 unique scents for men and women -- will be launched today from noon to 2:00 p.m. At the University Bookstore.

    According to Roanoke City Police a shooting suspect is at large after one person was shot on the Roanoke River Greenway near the Ramada Inn on Franklin Road. Police say the victim has non-life threatening injuries. The call came in around 8:55.
