Appalachian Power says many of its customers in Southwest and Central Virginia could have power fully restored by Friday night, but work will likely last through the weekend to restore power to the hardest hit areas of Roanoke and Lynchburg.

The company released an updated timetable on its website Friday morning at 11:30.

Officials say they hope to have more specific restoration times for the Roanoke and Lynchburg areas later in the day -- but for now they expect outages to last through the weekend.

They say most customers in Buchanan, Carroll, Dickenson, Floyd, Grayson, Hawkins, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Sullivan, Washington, Wise, Wythe, and Tazewell counties should have power back by Friday night.

Most customers in Montgomery and Giles counties should have power restored by Saturday at 9:00pm.  And most customers in Pulaski County should be back on by Sunday evening.

Appalachian Power says it's possible individual customers will get power back sooner than these estimates.

According to their facebook page, they hope to release estimated restoration times for Franklin and Bedford counties sometime Friday afternoon.

More than 2,200 Appalachian Power employees, contracted line workers, damage assessors, and tree crews are currently working on restoration.  Officials say as work wraps up in certain areas, crews will be moved to the places where outages remain.
