GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Beaufort County is a buzz with football festivities this weekend and Terrance Copper's camp was the story Saturday. The former Washington High School star and ECU standout returned to the east with around ten other NFL players.

"It feels good to be able to come to my hometown and give back," said Copper.

It was a special homecoming for the Pam Pack's best! Copper, along with some of his best friends from the Kansas City Chiefs were in Washington on Saturday to teach and inspire young athletes.

"They're very family oriented," said Dwayne Bowe, Wide Receiver for the Chiefs. "The kids are very appreciative and you cant ask for much more than that.

Along with Bowe, Dexter McCluster and a handful of other Chiefs was NFL free agent Vonta Leach. The former ECU great likes to take every chance he can get to give back to the east.

"It's something I do every year here at the Terrance Copper football camp," said Leach. "It's Pirates helping Pirates. He does a great job in the community and I just want to come lend a helping hand."

The number of NFL players who came to Washington for the weekend is a testament to the kind of person Terrance Copper is. Copper says if they can make a positive impact on the kids, then it was all worth while.

"The kids don't necessarily have to be football players but we want them to know any goal they have they can achieve it," said Copper.
