Trees still block roads in Roanoke

ROANOKE, VA -

While power continues to be restored, not everything has been removed from the road.

A giant tree is still blocking Penarth Road in Roanoke.

Neighbors have been forced to use an alternate route to leave their development.

Many of them say they're happy about getting their power back on but would like to let the city know the tree is still there.

Roanoke City officials say they are aware of a number of downed trees and are working to remove them all.

The solid waste management team has been working overtime since the storm hit to clear debris. They told WSLS they plan to work Monday-Saturday as long as it takes to pick up debris.
