Weather permitting, a lane closure will be in place between on southbound Interstate 581 between Hershberger Road and Valley View Boulevard on from 10:00 tonight to 6:00 Thursday morning. Work will be on the done on the Valley View Boulevard interchange design-build project.

The Ohio man accused of kidnapping three young women and imprisoning them in his house for a decade will appear in court in the day ahead. Ariel Castro will appear at a pre-trial hearing, where the judge is expected to set a trial date.

Conservative activists are planning what they call the largest tea party protest since 2010 in Washington, D.C. Today. The protest comes in response to the Internal Revenue Service's recent admission it specifically targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny.

Vice President Joe Biden will join leaders of Congress for a ceremony dedicating a statue to abolitionist Frederick Douglass. It's being moved from its former display in Judiciary Square to a new location in the U.S. Capitol.

The Roanoke Higher Education Center will hold its first "Pathways to Education" showcase tonight from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Roanoke Civic Center. 'Pathways to Education' brings together 13 institutions with workshops -- free to the public-- to highlight the education opportunities available in the Roanoke Valley.
