Green Ridge Rec Center in Roanoke County goes high tech

ROANOKE -

Katie Nolan's trying out new high tech machines for the first time at Green Ridge Rec Center in Roanoke County.

She says, "I just got back from vacation so ever since I have been here I have been in here working out and got all my friends to join me."

If your friends can't be there in person, you can find them on Facebook. Many of the new equipment allows you to log on to the Internet and connect with friends in many different ways. In addition to technology, the machines are physically challenging. One of the most challenging new additions is the Jacob's Ladder made popular NBC's hit show Biggest Loser.

There is something for everyone twenty four new pieces of equipment that allow you to customize your workout.

Fitness Coordinator, Chelsea Arner explains, "You have your challenges can create or you can go to your favorite websites. You can also create certain websites that are your favorite to use such My Fitness Pal, Facebook, Twitter or Google."

For some people will help keep them moving closer toward those fitness goals.
