Vice president Joe Biden will speak at this mornings National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast held by the organization Esperanza. The breakfast is the final event of a three-day conference held by Esperanza.

Convicted murderer Jodi Arias will be in court today for a hearing, necessary before the penalty phase re-trial scheduled for July 18th. Jurors in her original murder trial were unable to agree on whether to sentence her to life in prison or to be executed.

This National Association of Realtors will release existing home sales figures for May this morning. The numbers are expected to show an increase.

The Virginia Association for Early Childhood Education will announce a state-wide campaign this morning to encourage legislators to ensure early childhood education is available for all Virginians. The announcement will come at 10:30 a.m. at the Jefferson Center.

Governor Bob McDonnell will deliver a speech at the Girls State event at Longwood University this morning at 9:15 then head to Radford University for the Boys State event at 11:15 a.m.

There will be a ribbon cutting for a new fast food chain opening up at Valley View Station this morning at 10:45. Penn Station East Coast Subs is described as an upscale, fast-casual restaurant serving grilled-to-order and cold deli subs.

Virginia Tech's Office of Energy and Sustainability is encouraging people on the Blacksburg campus and community to take part in its Lights Out!/Power Down! Initiative this afternoon from 3:00-4:00 p.m.. It involves turning off and unplugging all non-critical lighting and electrical loads to kick-off the university's summer electrical demand management program.
