Local Stars Ready for Final Friday Night Lights

     They have already been stars--under the 1st and 10--Friday Night Lights. Now with diploma's in hand, they'll tee it up one final time before heading to the college ranks.  The lights come on for SW vs Central Virginia All-Star classic tomorrow night. Both coaches and players say they will cherish the moment, because even if they are continuing to play in college, most won't get the chance to play on Friday night--ever again.

        One of the local stars participating is Dorian Harris. Harris shined for the Buffaloes of Floyd County to the tune of nearly 5000 career yards and 67 touchdowns.. He'll head to UVA-Wise has his high school's career rushing leader.  Lord Botetourt three sport star Alex Hampton will take his considerable skills to Mount Union---the 11 time NCAA Division III champs who are regulars at the Stagg Bowl in Salem. He says if that opportunity should present itself, it would be wonderful to play in front of family and friends again....but  before Ohio--comes Franklin County--And one last chance to run out under those friday night lights.

    ROANOKE (WSLS) - Part of Interstate 581 in Roanoke was shut down early this morning following what police say was a DUI crash.The accident happened around 3:10 a.m. Police say a man was driving a truck when he lost control and flipped.He was arrested for driving under the influence.All northbound lanes will be reopened to traffic momentarily.
