Roanoke water main break shuts down streets

ROANOKE, VA -

A crew from the Western Virginia Water Authority is currently repairing a 12" water main break at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Gus Nicks Boulevard.

The break occurred at approximately 3:00 Sunday morning. Crews have isolated the break, and customers in the area do have water service.

While the repair is being made, the westbound lanes of Orange Avenue will be closed between 24th and 20th Streets.. The eastbound lane is being used to keep traffic moving in both directions. The left turn lane from Gus Nicks onto Orange is closed. 

Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling in this area.
