Botetourt County sees new businesses open their doors

BOTETOURT COUNTY -

Music, food, and fun is drawing more attention to Botetourt County.

Events like the Botetourt Co. Wine Trail and EventZone's Party in the Park are bringing in more people and boosting the economy.

That's helping new businesses like Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee get started.

The shop opened its doors in the Daleville Town Center earlier this month.

Botetourt Co. Administrator Kathleen Guzi said they're focusing on drawing visitors from neighboring cities and counties.

"People are realizing to get from Daleville to downtown Roanoke is really a 20 minute ride," she said. "It's not far out but you get to enjoy the scenic beauty and you're really very close to where a lot of people do call home."

One new business hoping to draw beer drinkers from the Star City is Flying Mouse Brewery.

Tuesday morning we'll take you on a tour of the new brewery and explain when it will open up to customers.
