Nolen pleads guilty in Franklin Co. murder-for-hire plot

Posted: Updated:

WSLS 10 has learned former Franklin County kindergarten teacher Angela Nolen pled guilty for her role in an alleged murder-for-hire plot involving her ex-husband.

The former Sontag elementary school teacher entered the plea today in Franklin County circuit court and will be sentenced August 9th.

Some quotes from a transcript of Nolen's meeting with an undercover state police officer on February 19th (Nolen thought he was a hit man):

UC: "Are you interested in him just being beaten? Killed?

Nolen: "Something that would eliminate him from this earth without me being in fear constantly."

---

UC: "How much money were you thinking?"

Nolen: "Ummm…"

UC: "I mean it's not cheap to have somebody killed you understand."

---

UC: "How much heartache is ten grand going to cause you?"

Nolen: "Really big (laughs)."

---

UC: "When I do this, you understand, he's going to be dead and he's not going to be coming back. And there is no… there is no turning back once you and I part ways other than receiving my money today."

Nolen: "Umm Hmm."

---

UC: "It's four thousand dollars for a man's life. Well, half of it. We're looking at eight thousand dollars, so, once I kill him, I will contact you and I will need another four thousand dollars. You have any trouble with that?"

Nolen: "No. I'll find it."

---

UC: "So you and I are completely clear, you want him dead, gone, period."

Nolen: "Umm Hmm."

---

Franklin County commonwealth's attorney Tim Allen said he will now try to talk to Nolen about her co-defendant, Cathy Bennett.
