1 injured in Fayetteville shooting

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police are investigating a shooting that left one person in the hospital Wednesday night.

Around 8:20 p.m., officers from the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a reported shooting at the Citgo convenience store at the intersection of Gillespie Street and Campbell Avenue, police said.

According to Fayetteville police, officers discovered that the victim was shot while on the 200 block of Nimocks Avenue and then went to the convenience store for safety.

The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Police have not released his condition or the severity of the injuries.

Fayetteville police are still investigating the incident.
