Triangle terrorist brothers have sentences reduced

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Federal court records show two members of a local terrorist cell had their prison sentences reduced.

Dylan "Mohammed" Boyd, 27, had his sentence cut from eight years in federal prison to seven. His brother, Zakariya "Zak" Boyd, 22, will now serve less than eight years  Zak Boyd's original sentence was nine years.

The brothers have already been behind bards for about four years.

Both pleaded guilty in 2011 to terrorism conspiracy charges.

The court records revealed the sentences were reduced because of "changed circumstances."

A total of seven local men were arrested for terrorism related charges in 2009.
