Virginia Tech players help raise money for woman with breast cancer

The community is working together to make a difference for a woman with breast cancer.

Ellen Coleman lives in Forest resident and grew up in Lynchburg. She is a single mother of 3 boys, ages 15, 13 and 4. Coleman was recently diagnosed with an invasive form of breast cancer.

A team of close friends have come together to organize a Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, June 29th at Jefferson Forest High School in Forest (1 Cavalier Cir, Forest, Virginia 24551). It's $5.00 to get in and children 12 and under are free.

The day includes kids activities and autographs from current and former Virginia Tech football players.

8:00am - Gates open
8:00am to 4:00pm - Bake Sale
8:00am - Face Painting and Bounce House Opens
8:00am to 3:00pm - Photo Booths
9:00am - Concession stand opens - serving coffee and drinks
9:40am - Prayer
9:50am - National Anthem, Sung by Lara Burford
10:00am - Dunking Booth opens
10:00am - Walk begins
11:30am - Concession stand begins serving lunch
12:00pm to 3:00pm - Kids Games and Activities (Intermediately)
1:00 pm - Band will start playing
1:00pm to 3:00pm - Autograph sessions by Logan Thomas and Jake Grove
(We will have a limited number of photos available for autographing or you can bring an item.)
3:15pm - Raffle and Auction winners are announced (Raffles opened all day until 3:15)
3:30pm - Balloon release
4pm - Event ends
