GREENVILLE, N.C. -

A Raleigh man has been arrested after an 18-year-old woman said she had been under the control of a pimp for several years and was acting as a sexual servant in Greenville.

Pitt County sheriff's deputies were called Wednesday by a human trafficking hotline.

Deputies were told the woman said she had been traveling to several cities in the past five days. The teen told authorities the man had her working as a prostitute. She also said she had been beaten by another man.

Spokeswoman Christy Wallace said the woman has been placed in a secured location.

Twenty-seven-year-old Tyrone McKeith Robinson Jr. has been charged with human trafficking sexual servitude and solicitation of prostitution.

It was not clear if Robinson has an attorney.
