He is a chiropractor by week;philanthropist on his off days. A charity that is near and dear to chiropractor Dr. Craig Camidge's heart has him working on a weekend.
Employees of Tuck Chiropractic spent their Saturday collecting canned goods from customers at the Kroger on Brambleton Avenue in Roanoke.
"I have a personal attachment to the Ronald McDonal house," Camidge said. " When I was in the fourth grade I had a classmate of mine that had significant health issues. He ended up passing away and his family spent a ton of time in Ronald McDonal houses across the country."
Camidge says that Tuck Chiropractic often works to aid local charities. When he saw Ronald McDonald house was next on the list he was quick to lend a hand.
"This is the charity we wanted to work with."
Ronald McDonald House Executive Director Laney Mofield says the house is a safe haven for families who are struggling with a sick child.
"They have support here not only from a great staff, but from families who are going through the same thing," Mofield said.
The food collected from the drive Saturday will go towards preparing free meals to those families.
