Fort Hood shootings suspect Major Nidal Hasan will enter a plea. He's expected to plead not guilty. In military cases, a defendant is not asked to enter a plea until right before the trial is to start. Hasan faces the possibility of the death penalty if found guilty of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder.

Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with his Russian counterpart. Kerry plans to discuss the crisis in Syria as well as NSA spy program leaker Edward Snowden.

Sixth District Congressman Bob Goodlatte will hold a town hall meeting in Lynchburg tonight from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. at the Lynchburg Public Library on Memorial Avenue.

Today marks the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Roanoke Rescue Mission, the largest homeless shelter in Western Virginia. The mission will dedicate its new Hope House tonight. It will be used for staff families and graduates of its recovery program.

Day two of the Greenbrier Classic week will feature some of the PGA's best golfers getting in a practice round today as well as a youth clinic by First Tee of the Roanoke Valley.

In consumer news later this morning, we'll learn how many cars were sold in June. Analysts predict the strongest monthly sales pace since December of 2007.

Coming up later on NBC's Today, Jeff Rossen investigates why VIPs and credit card holders can get tickets to big concerts that you often cannot.
