TRAFFIC ALERT: Amherst County River Road rail work

VDOT news release

Drivers on River Road (Route 685) in the Madison Heights area of Amherst County should be alert to temporary road closures while Norfolk Southern Rail works on its rail crossings. 

River Road will be closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day in the vicinity of the railroad trestle, 1.2 mile west of Kings Street (Route 684) beginning Monday, July 8 and ending Tuesday, July 9, weather permitting. 

Signs and other traffic control devices will be in use to alert motorists to this work.
