We just got information into our newsroom from Roanoke City Police, who say evidence from the crime scene indicates the man was shot multiple times.
The victim has been taken to the medical examiners's office, but his name is not being released.
We know police got a 9-1-1 call around 1 this afternoon from a person who says they want to check on the person living in the house on Grandin Road when they found the front door slightly open.
No arrests have been made in the case and the investigation is still on going.
Police officers made their way through the neighborhood asking if anyone had seen anything or heard gunshots.
One man said his brother lived in the house, but it's not confirmed if that's the body police found inside. The family seemed to visibly upset. They asked for their privacy during this time and we of course are respecting that.
We also talked to a few neighbors who say they are a little shaken up by the situation and can't imagine what the family is going through.
Renee brooks said, "I thought, what in the world is going on? We don't see that, not staying as long as they stay. We may see a police car or ambulance go back, but not to stay as long as they stay, so I figured something was wrong."
We also watched as a tow truck took a four door tan sedan from the residence.
They say the vehicle is a part of the investigation but didn't say why. As more details become available, we will continue to update you.
