VDOT says Bent Mountain Road is back open in Roanoke County, following flash flooding and mudslides overnight

Roanoke County Police say Bent Mountain Road is still blocked.

Also:

  • La Marre Drive from Williamson Road to Hugh Ave is closed
  • Verndale Drive from Florist Road to Orlando Ave & Tampa Drive are also closed

5:46 a.m. Thursday

VDOT says Bent Mountain Road in Roanoke County, is still blocked between Poage Valley Road and Callaway Road, after mudslides and flash flooding overnight.

VDOT crew do not know when the road will re-open

11:18 p.m. Wednesday

Roanoke County Police say Wednesday's heavy rains caused flash flooding and mudslides along Bent Mountain Road.

As of 11 p.m., Bent Mountain Road is closed between Poage Valley Road to Back Creek Elementary School.

Police say heavy flooding is on the road, and there are several large landslides.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible, and seek alternate routes.

Police do not know how long it will take to clear the roads.
