Bedford County pharmacists honored for saving a man's life

Posted: Updated:

It's not every day you get the chance to save someone's life and in Bedford County two pharmacists at a local CVS helped do just that.

Alex Lenhart and Bruno Andrade usually work behind the counter filling prescriptions at CVS, but they saved a man by performing CPR after they realized he was going into cardiac arrest.

It wasn't until the man's niece came by the store days later that they realized how important their quick actions were.

"She was telling us he lives alone and he had no body and if it had happened anywhere else, there would be nobody there for him," Andrade explained.

"I just felt very humbled by the whole thing, I just felt like it was just doing our job.," said Lenhart.

Bedford County Department of Fire and Rescue recognized their actions with an award at their annual banquet.
