Chrysler recalls about 490,000 cars and SUV's. Chrysler says there is a problem with active head restraints. Those are intended to prevent head and neck injuries in rear-end accidents, but "microcontrollers" in that system could be faulty and prevent it from working.
Here are the models affected:
2011 to 2013 Chrysler Sebring, 200 and Dodge Avenger cars.
2011 to 2013 Jeep Liberty and 2011 to 2012 Dodge Nitro.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration encourages car owners to report problems and defects. The Office of Defects Investigation is the only government agency that conducts investigations of car problems and issues recalls. They can investigate car problems and car equipment, child safety seats, and even tires.
You can report problems directly on their website.
You can also download an app and register your car... it will notify you when a safety issued is discovered.
