Bubblecake to open bake shop in Christiansburg

ROANOKE, VA -

A local bake shop is expanding and heading to the New River Valley.

Bubblecake, known for its artful cupcakes, will soon open a location in Christiansburg. Owners Lisa and Rob Lusk signed a lease for a space at Village Square this week. The shopping center is just north of the New River Valley Mall.

The vacant spot will be transformed into Bubblecakes' signature pink and white style. The locally owned and run business has two locations in Roanoke but a shop in the NRV is something its customers have been craving. "It's central in the New River Valley in that it's in Christiansburg, equal distance to Blacksburg and Radford which is exactly what we were looking for," said Bubblecake owner, Lisa Lusk. "There are a lot of students out there who interact with us on Facebook who come into this store very frequently and there has been a pull for a long time for us to open a store out there and we fell like we are finally ready."

Once they get their permits Lisa says it will take about a month to get Bubblecake in Christiansburg up and running.

Bubblecake currently has a location in the Crystal Spring area of South Roanoke and in Southwest Roanoke County, off Electric Road.
