GREENEVILLE, TN (WJHL) -

Greeneville physician, Dr. Robert Locklear, can no longer practice medicine after the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners found that he "engaged in unprofessional and unethical conduct and is unsafe to practice medicine". Dr. Locklear's medical license was suspended by the state board on July 1.

According to a report obtained by News Channel 11, a former employee also alleges she was "terminated because she refused to smoke crack cocaine with Dr. Locklear in between seeing patients in the office…"

Dr. Locklear, 42, practiced medicine at his office, Trinity Internal Medicine and Sleep, located at 895 East Andrew Johnson Highway, Greeneville, Tennessee.

An investigation by the Narcotics Task Forces in Greeneville, TN revealed that on May 13, Dr. Locklear smoked crack cocaine before seeing patients.

According to an affidavit, on June 11 the Greenville Police Department received a complaint from the clerk at the Comfort Inn concerning Locklear, a guest at the motel. A clerk told police a large amount of short stay traffic had been at Locklear's room and that she was suspicious of drug activity.

The affidavit says Locklear was found with 6.4 grams of crack cocaine and pipes in his pants pocket. Drug paraphernalia was also found in his car.

The Board of Medical Examiner's report says "It was discovered that Dr. Locklear purchased $2,000 worth of cocaine earlier that morning and that he gave three other individuals approximately $200 to $300 worth of cocaine that he purchased."

It was the second time in less than a week that Locklear was caught with crack cocaine.

Another affidavit revealed that Greene County Sheriff's Deputies were called to Be Happy Apartments on Snapps Ferry Road to investigate a domestic disturbance on June 5. There, Locklear stated he had brought crack cocaine to the apartment and placed it in a laundry basket. Those drugs were taken into evidence, but Locklear was not arrested at that time.

On June 13, Dr. Locklear was admitted to Bradford Health Services in Alabama, but on June 25, the report says that he checked himself out of the facility. He was arrested, shortly thereafter, for violating the conditions of his bond.

Dr. Locklear is currently our of jail after posting bond.

His medical license has been suspended until the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiner's sees fit to lift the suspension. Dr. Locklear had been practicing medicine since October 2002.
