City of Martinsville news release
Due to a water main break in the vicinity of Bridge Street and Memorial Blvd, the City of Martinsville in conjunction with the Henry/Martinsville Health Department and the Virginia Department of Health is issuing a boil water notice to residents.
Customers in the affected areas are warned to use bottle water or boil their tap water for 1 minute before drinking or using for cooking until further notice.
The following areas are affected by the notice:
Memorial Blvd. from Bridge Street west to Fayette Street and side streets including, Henry Street, Sellers Street, Salem Street, Lavinder Street and Manilla Street.
Bridge Street from the intersection of Memorial Blvd. north to Market Street, including Lavinder Street, Winston Street, Railroad Street, South Moss Street, Cemetery Street, Sutherlin Street and South College Street.
The Federal Aviation Administration has lifted its ban on U.S. flights to Israel, which it had imposed out of concern over the risk of planes being hit by Hamas rockets.
