Posted: Updated:
VINTON, VA -

In Vinton people got to taste good food, listen to local music and shop at the farmers market Saturday.

It's a new initiative by the Vinton Area Chamber of Commerce to educate people about the health benefits of eating locally grown food, teach new recipes and shop local artisan vendors.

"We have another roadside attraction band here called Blue Ridge Calvary Vauldville type of band. We like to share healthy food items with folks," said Mary Beth Layman, the organizer.

Coming up tonight at 7 - 11 p.m. everyone 21 and older is invited to the Vinton farmers market for Mingle in the Market. The event features the band Fuzzy Logic, drinks and dancing.
