Attorney General Eric Holder will attend the NAACP's national convention in Orlando where the focus today will be on gun violence. Holder is the focus of national attention right now as critics of the not-guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial have called on him to step in.

We could see a big showdown in the Senate today over President Barack Obama's stalled nominees. Democrats have threatened to change Senate rules so only a simple majority is needed to approve seven White House nominees at issue. Republicans have previously blocked votes via filibuster.

The Taubman Museum of Art will be the site of what's believed to be the first known local sugar art presentation. Ewald Notter, best known for creating complex sugarwork showpieces will be at the museum for a presentation, demonstration and meet and greet from 11:00 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.. It's free to the public.

Danville City Council will have its regular meeting tonight at 7:00. On the agenda, council could accept a gift of more than 13 acres of land to put used for future expansion of mountain bike trails and parking improvements at Anglers Park.
