RALEIGH, N.C. -

The Carolina Hurricanes will began their Summerfest event at PNC Arena with Canes prospects on the ice for some early workouts.

"Hurricanes Summerfest is a chance for the team and fans to enjoy a bit of hockey during the summer and look ahead to the coming season," said Ron Francis, Vice President of Hockey Operations. "It combines the team's existing summer events with our newly-designed Prospects Development Camp to create a fun-filled celebration of hockey."

All of the players from the Canes' 2013 draft were scheduled to be at the camp. The camp wraps up Saturday at noon with a game and skills competition.

The camp's evening sessions are open to the public at PNC Arena, with free parking and admission. Food and beverage will be on sale and The Eye team store will be open.

The morning sessions are closed to fans.
