Several Roanoke County families are not in their own home after severe thunderstorms storms blew through Tuesday evening.
In one north Roanoke County neighborhood off of Plantation Road trees have fallen on houses leaving gaping holes in the roofs for water to pour right in.
Several tree limbs lay across Jay Michael's parent's home.
He said Tuesday wasn't a good day for his family either.
First, a medical scare in the morning for his dad and then a destroyed home.
"My father was in the hospital with a mini stroke and they came home and this is what they came home to, they're going to stay with me," Michael said.
His parent's house is one of four on Oleander Street with major damage.
Two more have moderate and two cars are now sitting under tree limbs.
