Ft. Bragg soldiers allowed back home, officials still looking for ammunition

Posted: Updated:
FORT BRAGG, N.C. -

Soldiers are being allowed back home as officials at Fort Brag continue to look for missing rounds of small arms ammunition.

Army officials lifted the previously imposed restrictions Thursday night.

Members of 2nd Brigade Combat Team discovered ammunition was missing during a routine inventory of equipment on July 16. The equipment was used in support of the Global Response Force mission and is used in the typical firearms soldiers carry, such as rifles.

According to Sgt. 1st Class Alan Davis in the Public Affairs office, the procedure to keep soldiers at their respective units is standard whenever any equipment is missing.
