CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. -

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has held a closed door meeting with female Marines at Camp Lejeune.

The Daily News of Jacksonville reported that Hagel also toured an urban warfare training facility at the base as students demonstrated tactics, techniques and procedures.

After the training, Hagel met with more than a dozen female Marines on the opening of combat roles to women. The military is opening a number of combat jobs to women by 2016.

The group also talked about the sexual assault and sexual harassment problem in the military.

Hagel did not meet with reporters. He has visited a number of military installations in the Carolinas this week.
