Cookout for a Cause

Posted: Updated:

Alzheimer's disease is a growing epidemic that is now the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and is the only cause of death among the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented or cured. It is estimated that someone in America develops Alzheimer's disease every 68 seconds, and more than 5.4 million Americans are living with the disease - a number that is projected to triple by mid-century. In 2013, Alzheimer's will cost the nation $203 billion. This number is expected to rise to $1.2 trillion by 2050.
