Cookout for a Cause

Posted: Updated:

Alzheimer's disease is a growing epidemic that is now the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and is the only cause of death among the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented or cured. It is estimated that someone in America develops Alzheimer's disease every 68 seconds, and more than 5.4 million Americans are living with the disease - a number that is projected to triple by mid-century. In 2013, Alzheimer's will cost the nation $203 billion. This number is expected to rise to $1.2 trillion by 2050.

The staff and residents at EMERITUS AT CAVE SPRING, a senior living community, want you to indulge in a delicious lunch on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. while supporting the Alzheimer's Association, which raises funds to find a cure for the disease. For only $6, you'll make you a heaping plate of hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, coleslaw, chips and drinks. Tickets will also be available for some fantastic raffle prizes for $1 per ticket or $8 for 10 tickets. These are just two of the many fund-raisers EMERITUS AT CAVE SPRING is hosting to benefit the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's.
