Durham police identify victim in suspicious death investigation

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police is investigating the death of a woman as a homicide after her body was found inside of an apartment Tuesday morning.

Police said officers were sent around 10 a.m. to check on the welfare of a resident of at the Greens of Pine Glen apartments in the 6400 block of Greens Hollow Lane. Upon arrival, officers found an adult female dead inside the apartment.

Police have identified the victim as 58-year-old Ella Davis.

The cause of death has not been determined at this time, authorities said. But Durham police said they are investigating the death as a homicide.
